Latvia Post or Latvijas Pasts, as it is known in Latvian dialect, is the organization entrusted to take care of the national postal service of the country. The company was founded in 1992 after Latvian independence and it took up the mail service duties of the predecessors which started long back in 1632. However, owing to the political liberalization attempts, Latvia Post was transformed to public limited organization in 2004. The major services of Latvian Post are centered in Postal services, magazine subscription plus delivery and sale, forwarding & express delivery, trade, financial services, philately and inquiries. The mail transmission service from Latvia Post is divided into two segments like “A Class” and “B Class” where the former one is the “priority mail” that gets delivered the following working day and the latter is “cost mail” which takes 3 working days to get delivered. The company has its headquarter situated in Riga and is presently working with a staff strength of 6,149 employees. Maris Kleinbergs is the Chairman of the company. Latvia Post provides for Latvia Post Tracking service through an online tool from its website. The tracking service is initiated to assist the customers in tracing out their deliveries via the Latvia Post. The interested individuals would have to enter the official website of Latvia Post and head for the section specified as “Inquiries”. As the web page opens there would be a box to enter tracking number. The tracking code will be a coded format comprising of alphabets and numerical placed in a haphazard manner and without any gap in between.
